LORD SOMERS CAMPSITE ON WESTERNPORT BAY

Lord Somers Camp at Somers on the Mornington Peninsula, Westernport Bay is a superb location and hosts a variety of camps, for Lord Somers Camp and Power House and external parties seeking to make full use of the terrific facilities offered. Click here to see a location map of the campsite.

As you can see from the map and photos provided (click on any of the buildings on the map to see a photo), the campsite can cater for any size group, with a maximum sleeping capacity of 190 persons. More info

Bunk Rooms

The site has five dormitory bunk rooms each containing 22 beds and 2 beds in a leaders' room. These five bunk rooms have access to toilet and shower facilities via a covered walkway. Mattresses are provided. (Photo)

Staff Hut and Tower Block

These buildings have smaller rooms with 2-8 bunks in each room. Showers and toilets are under the same roof. These rooms also have convection heating to keep you warm during the winter months. The Tower Block and Staff Hut also have smaller meeting rooms. The common room in the Tower Block is fitted with a slow-combustion heater as well. Mattresses are provided.(Photo)

Mess Hut

The Mess Hut makes an ideal multipurpose room, with fold-up tables that can seat up to 150 people. There is also room to place additional tables. (Photo)

Outdoor Amphitheatre

The outdoor theatre is fitted with tiered seating covered by sails, a roofed stage and changing facilities making an excellent venue for presentations and performances (weather permitting). (photo)

Bush Chapel

Located a few hundred metres from the centre of the camp, the Bush Chapel is an ideal place for quiet reflection and important ceremonies. Fitted with tiered seating, it is a fantastic part of the campsite.(Photo)

Games Facilities

The Coltman Hut and two nearby playing fields provide excellent facilities for both indoor and outdoor games and activities. A volleyball court next to the Coltman Hut is illuminated so that games can be played at night. (Photo)
